Outlaws & Bandidos

On a recent trip to the ranch I found that the someone had made their way with the security chains and the front gate. I found the chains cut and a gate hinge completely removed and missing from the gate. I was very concerned and thinking that it was time to face outlaw bandits, trespassers, poachers, or thieves. Fearing the worst I immediately reached for my wheel gun……what I call my “Pancho Villa” in .44 magnum. No need for 911.

I pushed the gate open and began my search for the scoundrels. Fortunately, nobody was around and everything was in its place and untouched, very strange. Why would they have cut my chains and removed the gate hinge?

It was only until the next morning after another walkabout in daylight did I realize that the uninvited guests, the maurauderes of Deep East Texas, were non other than the local electric company servicemen. They made some changes to my electrical meter and updated my electric meter box with a plastic safety cover and a green lock tag. On one pole they removed all of my electrical hardware all together. I guess they must have an electricity theft problem somewhere. They also inventoried my electrical poles and labeled them with metallic numerical tags. At this time I don’t have electrical services connected so they have no record of me. I do appreciate their work however they could have left $30 dollars for the new chains and gate hinge I replaced. :/
