Before and After…..Brush Hog Work
With all of the wonderful rain we had alot of vegetative growth over the summer and the ranch needed a good clean up. As you can see from the pictures below it makes a huge difference. It makes it easier for us to see the ground and possible snakes that may be wondering about the land looking for a meal.
New Feeder Setup Completed
A new feeder was setup this weekend. It is ready to go with 200 lbs of corn. There is a new game camera covering the area as well. I’m hoping the camera does not get stolen. It was secured with a special lock but we will have to wait and see. This area was also cleared out with a tractor and brush hog. A stand will be setup behind the feeder in the area with green vegetation. This should help with natural cover.

Summer Work Day – Weed Clean Up
The weeds were taking over the covered area and the insects and bugs were also on the rise. I used a STIHL weed eater and a machete my brother gave me to cut down all of the weeds and over grown brush. My weed eater is a very powerful machine. It was a long 2 days but the end result was worth it. Very pleased. I will need to trim it down again in late January. This was the most intense work day so far at the ranch. Wish I…
