Spring Maintenace & Storms
Time to visit the ranch for some Spring maintenance and to check for damages to the pole barn from the recent storms. On the to do list are the following items, paint the gates, check the property lines, repair any damaged fencing, replace the broken water line, replace the electrical pole and breaker box, clear the weeds around the pole barn, refill the feeders, remove old electrical wiring from pole barn, and check the game cameras.
Boat Motor
This is the outboard motor for “Old Navy”. It is a 45 HP, 4 cylinder, 2 stroke motor. I am cleaning up and getting it ready for the 2018 boating season. Boat
1852 Jon Boat – Official Ranch Jon Boat
Ladies and Gentlemen, meet “Old Navy”. This is the official boat of the little ranch. It is an 18 ft Alumacraft jon boat. Hopefully it will be ready for the 2018 boating season. I see many rivers, lakes, and maybe the bay in its future. I named the boat “Old Navy” because of this picture. 🙂
Before and After…..Brush Hog Work
With all of the wonderful rain we had alot of vegetative growth over the summer and the ranch needed a good clean up. As you can see from the pictures below it makes a huge difference. It makes it easier for us to see the ground and possible snakes that may be wondering about the land looking for a meal.
Texas 1836 Sign
This sign will be placed on the eastern exterior wall of the base camp. It will require a long ladder, cordless drill, and some security fasteners to prevent theft. Looking forward to seeing the sign at the ranch. TEXAS!
Water Line Maintenance Project
This water line that runs from the meter to the spigot has been exposed and needs to be buried.
Support Beam Replacement Project
This beam needs to be replaced, straigtened out and reused on the north side of the base camp roof. The replacement post is onsite already.
Tree Ladder Project
Old Timers Hunting Tree Ladder – Needs some maintenance or possible replacement for safe use. This wooden ladder dates back to the 1980’s.
